Genuine Lenovo M.2 Wireless Adapter

This genuine Lenovo wireless card uses the RTL8188EE chipset and carries part number 04W3808. It fits a Mini PCI Express slot and supports the 802.11b/g/n protocol with a maximum data rate of 100 Mbps. The adapter is supplied as a new card only, without antennas or brackets. It is intended as a direct replacement for compatible notebooks.

Suits owners of listed ThinkPad and Satellite models

Buyers with a ThinkPad E545 or Toshiba Satellite L70 can use this as a drop-in Wi-Fi replacement. Systems that require a newer Wi-Fi standard, higher throughput, Bluetooth capability, or a different physical slot will not be compatible with this card. Laptops using a half-height Mini PCIe form factor or proprietary keying should look elsewhere.

Mini PCI Express slot requirement

The single specification that decides fit is the Mini PCI Express interface; the card will only install in a notebook that provides this exact slot type. If the target machine uses M.2 keyed E, soldered Wi-Fi, or any other connector, this adapter cannot be used. No other specification overrides the slot requirement.

Questions about this item

Will this M.2 Wi-Fi adapter work in the Mini PCI Express slot of my ThinkPad E545?

The card uses a Mini PCI Express interface, so it fits the E545 slot directly without an adapter.

How can I confirm the RTL8188EE is running at its rated speed after installation?

Connect to an 802.11n network and check the link rate in your OS; it should show up to 100 Mbps when signal quality is good.

Does the 04W3808 package include antennas or cables, or must I source them separately?

Only the wireless card is included; antenna cables are already installed in compatible laptops and are not supplied with this part.
