Product identity

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 20Y3006WUS is a 16 inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7 11850H octa core processor running at 2.50 GHz. It ships with 32 GB of memory and a 1 TB solid state drive. The 3840 by 2400 WQUXGA panel is non touch and targets professionals who need colour accurate output for design, engineering or content creation workloads.

Sustained workload behaviour

The eight core processor maintains its 2.50 GHz base frequency across extended render or compile sessions thanks to the workstation class thermal design. Integrated graphics share system memory so heavy GPU compute will draw from the 32 GB pool rather than dedicated video memory. The 1 TB SSD provides consistent read write throughput for large project files without the slowdown seen on smaller drives.

Installation and common issues

The laptop arrives fully assembled so deployment is limited to operating system configuration and driver updates. Memory and storage are not user accessible on this chassis so upgrades require authorised service. Buyers who want more storage or a discrete graphics option should verify requirements before purchase because the platform does not support internal expansion.

Questions about this item

How loud does the ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 get when the i7-11850H runs at 2.50 GHz all day?

The system uses an integrated graphics card, so the CPU handles both compute and display workloads; fan noise rises under sustained load but the laptop stays within its thermal design limits.

What must I already own to use the 3840 x 2400 WQUXGA panel on this 20Y3006WUS?

The panel is built in and non-touch; no external display or adapter is required to reach the native 3840 x 2400 resolution.

Will my older 1366 x 768 monitor work alongside the built-in 3840 x 2400 screen?

Yes, the laptop can drive an external 1366 x 768 monitor while the internal panel runs at 3840 x 2400, each at its native resolution.
