Mobile workstation for creators

The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 Gen 4 pairs an 11th Generation Intel Core i7-11800H processor with 64 GB DDR4 memory and a 2 TB NVMe SSD. A 16.0" WQXGA IPS panel at 2560 x 1600 delivers 400 nits brightness with anti-glare coating. NVIDIA T1200 4 GB graphics support professional visual workflows in a 3.99 lb chassis.

Thermals noise and power

The 17.7 mm thin profile houses an 8-core, 16-thread CPU that reaches 4.60 GHz with Turbo Boost from a 2.30 GHz base. The 24 MB cache helps sustain multi-threaded loads across the 359.5 x 253.8 mm footprint. Windows 10 Pro manages power states for the DDR4 memory and NVMe storage during typical creative sessions.

Upgrade path and value

The configuration upgrades from a base specification to 64 GB DDR4 via two 32 GB modules and a 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD without affecting the manufacturer warranty. Buyers who need more than 64 GB memory or multiple GPU options should consider larger form factors. The 16.0" 16:10 display suits single-monitor colour-critical work where panel quality matters more than raw gaming throughput.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 64 GB DDR4 memory modules and 2 TB NVMe SSD without voiding the Lenovo warranty?

The supplier opens the chassis to fit the 2 x 32 GB DDR4 sticks and the 2 TB PCIe NVMe SSD before shipment; this upgrade does not affect the original Lenovo manufacture warranty.

What maintenance will the NVIDIA T1200 4 GB graphics and cooling system need over time?

Dust should be cleared from the dual fan vents periodically; the Quadro driver stack receives updates through Windows Update or the NVIDIA enterprise branch.

Which limit appears first during sustained all-core workloads on the i7-11800H?

The 8-core processor reaches its 4.60 GHz turbo ceiling and then settles at the 2.30 GHz base frequency once the thermal solution saturates.
