Mobile workstation with touchscreen

The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 is a 14.0 inch business laptop built around an AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U processor with eight cores and a 4.4 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 16GB of DDR4 memory in a single occupied slot and a 256GB NVMe drive. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed and the 1920 x 1080 FHD panel supports touch input.

Connectivity and included items

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and two USB 3.2 Type-C Gen 2 ports handle data and video, while an HDMI output and a side docking connector expand display options. The box contains the laptop, a charger and the installed battery. Wireless 802.11ax and Bluetooth are integrated, and a 720p webcam with a privacy shutter covers video calls.

Suited for mobile professionals.

This configuration suits professionals who value a lightweight chassis, touchscreen interaction and the manageability features of a PRO series CPU. Buyers who need more than 256GB of internal storage or who require user-upgradeable memory should consider other models because the single memory slot is already populated.

Questions about this item

Can the 16GB DDR4 memory be upgraded later?

The laptop has one memory slot and it is already occupied, so the 16GB cannot be expanded without replacing the module; the platform supports up to 48GB total.

Will the Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U throttle during long rendering jobs?

Sustained heavy workloads will hit the thermal limits of the thin chassis before the 4.4GHz turbo can be maintained, so clock speeds drop to stay within the cooling capacity.

How loud does the fan get when the Radeon graphics run all day?

Under continuous load the fan spins up to an audible level but remains a steady whoosh rather than a whine; surface temperatures stay warm but not uncomfortable.
