ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P14s Gen 2 is a 14.0 inch mobile workstation with a touchscreen IPS panel running at 1920 x 1080 resolution and 60 Hz refresh rate. It ships new with Windows 11 Pro and carries a Grade B cosmetic rating for surface blemishes. An AMD Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U eight-core processor with 4.4 GHz turbo frequency and integrated AMD Radeon graphics powers the system.

Upgrade from dual-core ultraportables

Moving from a dual-core ultraportable to this eight-core Ryzen 7 PRO 5850U adds 16 threads and a 4.4 GHz turbo for compile jobs and heavy multitasking. The 24 GB DDR4 memory and 512 GB NVMe storage remove the bottlenecks common on 8 GB or 16 GB configurations. A jump is worth it when local VMs, large datasets or simultaneous creative apps exceed the memory ceiling of a lesser machine.

Suits developers and field engineers

This unit suits developers, field engineers and analysts who need a colour-accurate touchscreen, 24 GB RAM and a durable chassis in a 14 inch form factor. Buyers who want more storage than 512 GB or require discrete GPU acceleration for rendering should look at something else. Grade B cosmetics mean visible wear, so users expecting pristine surfaces should consider a different grade.
