Mobile workstation for certified apps

The ThinkPad P15 Gen 1 pairs an Intel Core i7-10750H six-core processor with an NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU carrying 4 GB of dedicated video memory. Sixteen gigabytes of DDR4 2933 memory and a 512 GB PCIe SSD ship installed. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit runs on the 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel rated at 500 nits with 72% gamut coverage, Dolby Vision and HDR support.

Expandable chassis with dual M.2 slots

Two SODIMM slots remain free, allowing memory growth up to 128 GB total. Storage can be doubled with a second M.2 2280 SSD up to 2 TB. Connectivity includes 802.11ax Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, Gigabit LAN and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one of which stays powered in sleep mode. A touch-style fingerprint reader with match-on-chip authentication secures log-in.

Handles CAD and render workloads

The Quadro T1000 drives professional 3D and video applications within its 4 GB VRAM ceiling, while the six-core CPU sustains multi-threaded compute. The 16 GB baseline suits typical assemblies; larger data sets will require populating the open memory slots. The 512 GB boot drive fills quickly with project libraries, so the second M.2 bay is the natural next step.

Questions about this item

Will the i7-10750H hit its thermal ceiling and throttle during long renders?

The six-core i7-10750H with 12 MB L3 cache runs in a chassis built for sustained mobile-workstation loads; the Quadro T1000 4 GB GPU shares the same cooling stack.

How loud and hot does the P15 Gen 1 get when the CPU and Quadro T1000 run flat-out all day?

Dual-fan cooling targets the 500-nit IPS panel and 72 % gamut hardware; fan noise rises under full load but stays within typical mobile-workstation levels.

Which power adapter must I already own to keep the i7-10750H and Quadro T1000 at full speed?

The system ships with the required AC adapter; the single USB 3.2 Gen 1 Always-On port does not supply enough power to run the workstation under load.
