15.6-inch mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around a quad-core Intel Core i7-6820HQ processor, 32 GB of DDR4 memory and a dedicated NVIDIA Quadro M2000M graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. It ships with Windows 10 Pro and a 1 TB SATA SSD. The Full HD display uses LED backlighting at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Sustained thermal performance

Under continuous load the i7-6820HQ can reach a turbo frequency of 3.60 GHz while its 8 MB L3 cache helps keep data close to the cores. The Quadro M2000M is certified for professional 3D applications and maintains stable frame rates during extended rendering or simulation sessions. The chassis is designed to dissipate heat from both the CPU and GPU without throttling during long workloads.

Thunderbolt 3 and display limits

The single Thunderbolt 3 port uses a USB-C connector and supports data, video and charging through one cable, but only one such port is provided. External displays can also be driven through the HDMI port and the Mini DisplayPort connector. The integrated Gigabit Ethernet and 802.11ac wireless provide wired and wireless network connectivity for typical office and field use.
