Mobile workstation with ISV certification

The Lenovo ThinkPad P50 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation certified for over 100 independent software vendor applications. It combines an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor with 64GB of DDR4 memory and NVIDIA Quadro M1000M graphics. The system targets professionals who need workstation-class reliability for 3D rendering and complex multitasking in a portable form factor.

Verify OS and port requirements

This unit ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit pre-installed and includes Bluetooth 4.1 connectivity. Buyers should confirm that their required peripherals and network infrastructure are compatible with this operating system version and Bluetooth standard. The laptop provides four USB ports for external devices and features a fingerprint reader for biometric security.

Sustained performance for rendering workloads

The hybrid drive configuration pairs a 1TB mechanical disk with solid-state caching to balance capacity and responsiveness during extended sessions. The Quadro M1000M GPU and i7-6700HQ CPU, with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.5 GHz, are designed to maintain stable output for prolonged 3D rendering and compute tasks. ISV certification ensures driver stability under continuous professional application loads.

Questions about this item

Does the ThinkPad P50 arrive with a charger and battery, or must I purchase them separately?

The laptop ships as a complete mobile workstation with its AC adapter and internal battery installed, so no separate power accessories are required.

Is the 64 GB DDR4 memory in this P50 user-expandable, or should I choose a different capacity at purchase?

The unit already contains 64 GB of DDR4, which is the maximum supported by the Intel Core i7-6700HQ platform, so no further memory upgrade is possible.

How does the 3.5 GHz turbo frequency of the i7-6700HQ translate to everyday CAD and rendering workloads on this 15.6" FHD system?

The quad-core processor can reach 3.5 GHz on active cores, giving strong single-thread responsiveness for viewport interaction while the NVIDIA Quadro M1000M handles GPU-accelerated rendering tasks.
