Workstation laptop with six-core processor

The Lenovo ThinkPad P52 is a 2018 mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7-8850H six-core processor that reaches 4.3 GHz. It ships with Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, 16GB of DDR4 2400 memory and a 2TB solid-state drive. The 15.6-inch non-touch IPS panel shows 1920 x 1080 resolution and is paired with an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card carrying 4GB of dedicated video memory.

Ready to use with fingerprint security

The laptop arrives new with the operating system already installed, so no drive imaging or driver hunting is required. A match-on-chip fingerprint reader and a physical webcam privacy cover are integrated for immediate security use. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C handles external displays and high-speed peripherals without extra adapters. The spill-resistant keyboard and TrackPoint pointing device work straight out of the box.

Suits CAD and ISV users needing certified graphics

This configuration fits engineers and analysts who rely on Quadro-certified drivers for 3D modelling or simulation workloads. The 2TB SSD and 16GB DDR4 cover large project files and multitasking. Buyers who want more storage or higher GPU memory for heavier rendering should look at other models. The non-touch FHD screen also means pen input or higher pixel density are not available.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Intel Core i7-8850H is reaching its 4.3 GHz turbo frequency under load?

Open Task Manager in Windows 10 Pro, select the Performance tab, and watch the CPU clock speed while running a demanding task; it should report speeds up to 4.3 GHz when the hexa-core processor boosts.

What is included in the box and which essential items are not supplied?

The laptop ships with the ThinkPad P52 unit, its power adapter, and Windows 10 Pro pre-installed; no optical drive, external peripherals, or additional memory modules are included.

Which configuration should I choose between the 16 GB DDR4 2400 memory and the 2 TB SSD for my workload?

The 16 GB DDR4 2400 RAM handles multitasking and the NVIDIA Quadro P1000 4 GB graphics, while the 2 TB solid-state drive provides the primary storage capacity; both are fixed in this model.
