New 2018 Lenovo ThinkPad P52 Workstation

This 15.6 inch FHD laptop ships new with Windows 10 Pro, a six-core Intel Core i7-8850H reaching 4.3 GHz, 64GB DDR4 2400 memory and a 1TB SSD. NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics with 4GB dedicated video memory drive the 1920 x 1080 IPS anti-glare panel. A fingerprint reader and webcam privacy cover are included.

Mobile professionals needing certified ISV graphics

The Quadro P1000 suits engineers, designers and analysts who rely on validated drivers for CAD, DCC or scientific visualisation workloads. The 64GB RAM and 1TB SSD handle large assemblies and datasets without bottlenecks. Buyers who want higher GPU compute for deep-learning training or real-time ray tracing should look at a workstation with a more powerful graphics card.

4GB Quadro P1000 dedicated video memory

This single figure determines whether the laptop can hold your working models and textures in VRAM. If your ISV applications recommend more than 4GB video memory, this unit will not meet that requirement.

Questions about this item

What type of memory modules are required to expand the 64GB DDR4 2400 configuration?

The system uses DDR4 2400 SO-DIMM modules; verify the maximum supported capacity per slot before purchasing additional sticks.

Will the Thunderbolt 3 port drive a legacy DisplayPort monitor using a passive adapter?

Yes, the Thunderbolt 3 port carries native DisplayPort signalling so a passive USB-C to DisplayPort cable or adapter will work with older monitors.

How can I confirm the Quadro P1000 4GB is active after installing drivers?

Open NVIDIA Control Panel or Device Manager; the Quadro P1000 should appear with 4GB dedicated video memory and the driver version listed.
