Mobile workstation for certified apps

The Lenovo ThinkPad P52 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built for engineers and designers who rely on ISV-certified drivers. It pairs a six-core Intel Core i7-8850H processor with 64GB of DDR4 2400 memory and an NVIDIA Quadro P1000 graphics card holding 4GB of dedicated video memory. Windows 10 Pro comes pre-installed.

Thunderbolt 3 expands I/O

A single Thunderbolt 3 port handles power delivery, external displays and high-speed storage simultaneously, reducing the number of cables required at a desk. The 256GB solid-state drive stores the operating system and active project files, while the full-sized spill-resistant keyboard and TrackPoint allow extended typing sessions without an external peripheral.

Quadro P1000 runs cool under load

The discrete Quadro P1000 4GB GPU is tuned for professional 3D and CAD workloads rather than gaming, so its thermal profile stays moderate during typical viewport operations. Fan noise remains low during office tasks and rises only when the six-core CPU sustains 4.3 GHz turbo frequencies across all cores for rendering or simulation jobs.

Questions about this item

How long does the i7-8850H sustain its 4.3 GHz turbo before thermal limits lower the clock?

The six-core i7-8850H reaches 4.3 GHz turbo, but sustained all-core speeds drop once the cooling system hits its thermal ceiling.

What are the fan noise and surface temperatures like during an all-day render on the Quadro P1000?

Under continuous load the dual fans become clearly audible and the keyboard deck grows warm, typical for a 15.6" mobile workstation chassis.

Which Thunderbolt dock or eGPU will work with the single Thunderbolt 3 port on this P52?

Any certified Thunderbolt 3 dock or external GPU enclosure connects to the single USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port for displays and peripherals.
