Mobile workstation for rendering

The ThinkPad P53 pairs a hexa-core Intel Core i7-9750H running up to 4.5GHz with an NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4GB GPU. It ships with 16GB DDR4 RAM at 2666MHz and a 1TB NVME drive. A 15.6" FHD IPS panel at 1920x1080 resolution, 300 nits and 72% colour gamut completes the core specification. Windows 10 Pro and a fingerprint reader are included.

Engineers and creators on the move

Professionals running CAD, 3D rendering or data-intensive AI workloads will find the certified Quadro graphics and ISV-tuned drivers fit for purpose. The fingerprint reader and dTPM encryption support business security requirements. Buyers who need a touchscreen, higher colour coverage or a larger display should consider other models.

Sustained heavy workloads

The mobile workstation chassis is engineered to dissipate heat during extended render or compute sessions rather than brief bursts. WiFi-6 certification maintains stable throughput in dense wireless environments when transferring large assets. Dolby Atmos speakers provide clear audio monitoring during long editing sessions without external hardware.

Questions about this item

Does the 1 TB NVME drive need a separate power cable or mounting bracket?

The 1 TB NVME drive is installed internally and draws power directly from the motherboard, so no extra cable or bracket is required.

Will the NVIDIA Quadro T2000 4 GB GPU work with a legacy 1080p monitor connected through the dock?

The Quadro T2000 supports external displays at 1920 x 1080 resolution, so a legacy 1080p monitor will function normally through a compatible dock.

How can I confirm the 16 GB DDR4 memory is running at 2666 MHz after first boot?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, click Memory and verify the speed shown reads 2666 MHz.
