Mobile workstation for data-intensive tasks

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 combines a six-core Intel Core i7-9750H running up to 4.5 GHz with 128GB DDR4 memory and NVIDIA Quadro T1000 4GB graphics. It targets professionals who need certified drivers for CAD, rendering or AI workloads on a 15.6" FHD IPS panel. Linux Mint ships pre-installed for immediate deployment.

Storage headroom and memory ceiling

Dual drives provide 512GB NVME plus a 1TB 2.5-inch SSD for fast boot and large project libraries. The 128GB DDR4 capacity handles multi-application datasets without paging, though the soldered configuration prevents further expansion. GPU memory stops at 4GB, limiting very large scene complexity.

Security hardware and daily connectivity

A fingerprint reader and discrete TPM encrypt credentials at hardware level. The 500-nit anti-glare display with 72% colour gamut remains readable in bright offices. WiFi-6 and Dolby Atmos speakers support remote collaboration without extra peripherals.

Chassis constraints for field use

The black ThinkPad chassis meets MIL-STD durability standards for vibration and shock resistance. Port selection covers external monitors and accessories, while the non-touch screen avoids fingerprint smudges during presentations. Battery life varies with workload intensity.

Questions about this item

Will the 128GB DDR4 memory and i7-9750H processor handle my existing DDR4 SO-DIMM modules if I swap them in?

The system ships with 128GB of DDR4 already installed; the i7-9750H memory controller supports standard DDR4 SO-DIMMs, so any compatible sticks you keep can be used, but total capacity will depend on the number of slots populated.

How can I verify the Quadro T1000 4GB GPU and 500-nit FHD panel are performing correctly after first boot?

Run the NVIDIA driver utility to confirm the T1000 4GB is detected, then check display settings for 1920x1080 resolution at 500 nits brightness and HDR/Dolby Vision flags in the Linux Mint colour profile.

Does the box include both the 512GB NVME and 1TB 2.5-inch SSD, or must I buy one separately?

The unit comes with both drives pre-installed — 512GB NVME plus 1TB 2.5-inch SSD — so no additional storage purchase is required unless you want extra capacity.
