Mobile workstation with Quadro graphics

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation built around an Intel Core i7-9750H six-core processor running at 2.60 GHz with a 4.5 GHz turbo frequency. It includes 16GB of DDR4 memory at 2666 MHz and a 1TB NVME drive. The NVIDIA Quadro T1000 GPU provides 4GB of video memory for professional applications. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

FHD IPS display and integrated security

The 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution with anti-glare coating, 300 nits brightness and 72% colour gamut. A fingerprint reader and discrete Trusted Platform Module handle authentication and data encryption alongside Windows 10 security features. Dolby Atmos speakers provide audio output. The system uses WiFi-6 connectivity for wireless networking.

Suited for CAD and data tasks.

This configuration suits engineers, analysts and creators who need ISV-certified Quadro graphics in a portable chassis for CAD, BIM or data-science workloads. The 16GB memory and single 1TB drive may limit users running large simulations, heavy virtualisation or multi-GPU render farms. Buyers needing more storage, higher video memory or a touchscreen should consider other configurations.

Questions about this item

How long can the Intel Core i7-9750H sustain its 4.5 GHz turbo before thermal limits reduce the clock speed?

The six-core i7-9750H is rated for 4.5 GHz maximum turbo; sustained all-core speeds will be lower once the cooling system reaches its thermal capacity, which varies with workload and ambient temperature.

What fan noise level and surface temperatures should I expect when the Quadro T1000 and i7-9750H run at full load for hours?

Under continuous heavy load the dual-fan cooling moves significant air, so keyboard deck and exhaust areas become noticeably warm and fan noise rises to an audible but not intrusive level typical for a 15.6" mobile workstation.

Which docking connector does the P53 use so I can check if my existing dock is compatible?

The P53 provides a mechanical side-docking connector compatible with Lenovo ThinkPad workstation docks, plus USB-C and HDMI for alternative single-cable setups.
