Mobile workstation with dual storage

The Lenovo ThinkPad P53 is a 15.6-inch mobile workstation running Windows 10 Pro. It combines an Intel Core i7-9850H six-core processor at 2.60 GHz with 32GB DDR4 memory and NVIDIA Quadro T2000 graphics with 4GB video memory. The display is a non-touch FHD IPS panel at 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Suits CAD and data-science workflows

This machine suits engineers and analysts who need ISV-certified graphics and a fingerprint reader for secure login. Buyers who require a touchscreen or a higher colour-gamut display should look at other models. The 300-nit brightness and 72-per-cent colour coverage are fixed by the panel specification.

Dual-drive layout: 512GB NVME plus 4TB 2.5-inch SSD

The storage subsystem pairs a 512GB NVME drive with a 4TB 2.5-inch SSD, giving a large combined volume for project files and applications. Both drives are solid-state, so there are no mechanical hard disks inside. The total capacity is determined by these two installed drives.

Questions about this item

What limits the Intel Core i7-9850H during long rendering jobs?

The six-core processor has a 12 MB cache and a 4.6 GHz turbo ceiling; sustained speed depends on the P53's thermal solution and the workload intensity

How loud and hot does the ThinkPad P53 get when running all day?

The workstation uses a discrete NVIDIA Quadro T2000 with 4 GB video memory alongside the Intel CPU; fan noise and surface temperature rise with continuous GPU and CPU load

Which storage drives must already be installed for the 512 GB NVME and 4 TB SSD to work?

The laptop ships with both drives fitted — a 512 GB NVME module and a 4 TB 2.5-inch SSD — so no additional storage is required to start working
