17.3" FHD IPS mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation running Windows 10 Pro. It combines an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with 32GB DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD. The 1920 x 1080 IPS display and NVIDIA Quadro M620M graphics target professional 3D and multitasking workloads. Integrated 4G LTE WWAN and a fingerprint reader support secure remote access.

Suited for ISV-certified apps.

This laptop suits engineers and designers who rely on ISV-certified applications and need a large anti-glare screen on the move. The Quadro M620M with 2GB VRAM handles moderate CAD and visualisation tasks. Buyers who need more graphics memory for large assemblies or GPU compute clusters should look at larger workstation configurations. The non-touch display also means pen input is not supported.

Quadro M620M 2GB VRAM decides fit

The NVIDIA Quadro M620M GPU with 2GB dedicated video memory is the specification that determines whether this system matches your workload. It drives the 1920 x 1080 panel and accelerates certified professional applications. If your software requires higher VRAM capacity or newer compute features, this graphics option will limit performance.

Questions about this item

Does the Quadro M620M GPU and i7-7700HQ processor run quietly and stay cool when rendering all day?

The Quadro M620M with 2 GB VRAM and the i7-7700HQ quad-core at up to 3.8 GHz are built for sustained workstation workloads; ThinkPad thermal design keeps noise and heat controlled during long sessions.

What must I already own to use the 4G LTE WWAN on this P71?

You need an active nano-SIM data plan from a mobile carrier; the WWAN module is integrated and works once a valid SIM is inserted.

Can I keep using my existing DDR4-2400 SO-DIMMs if I want more than the 32 GB already installed?

The system ships with 32 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz; additional SO-DIMMs must match DDR4-2400 spec to be compatible.
