Mobile Workstation with ISV Certification

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3" mobile workstation built for certified professional applications. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor with a 3.80 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB hybrid drive combining traditional storage with 8GB of NAND flash. An NVIDIA Quadro M620M GPU with 2GB of video memory drives the 1920 x 1080 IPS display.

Suited for Certified App Users.

This laptop targets engineers and designers who rely on ISV-certified stability across more than 100 professional applications. The Quadro M620M supports professional drivers for CAD and 3D software rather than gaming optimisations. Buyers who need higher GPU memory for large assemblies or real-time ray tracing should look at a different class of mobile workstation. The non-touch FHD panel covers standard colour-critical work without wide-gamut or HDR support.

Quadro M620M with 2GB VRAM Decides Professional Fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the NVIDIA Quadro M620M graphics card equipped with 2GB of dedicated video memory. This configuration handles entry-level to mid-range 3D modelling, BIM and simulation tasks within certified workflows. If your projects demand larger frame buffers for complex scenes or GPU compute workloads, this 2GB limit will be the bottleneck.

Questions about this item

How do I confirm the Intel Core i7-7700HQ is reaching its 3.80 GHz turbo frequency after setup?

Open Task Manager, select the Performance tab, choose CPU, and watch the live clock speed while running a demanding workload; it should show 3.80 GHz when all four cores are fully loaded.

What comes in the box with the ThinkPad P71 and what must I buy separately?

The laptop, its AC power adapter and Windows 10 Pro licence are included; any docking station, external monitor or additional storage drive must be purchased separately.

Which configuration should I choose between the 64 GB DDR4 RAM and the 1 TB Hybrid Drive with 8 GB NAND?

The unit ships with both 64 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz and the 1 TB Hybrid Drive, so there is no separate version to select — you receive the full specification together.
