Mobile workstation for ISV-certified applications

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built for professionals who rely on ISV-certified software. It ships new with Windows 7 Professional and an Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor reaching 3.80 GHz turbo frequency. The quad-core Kaby Lake CPU includes 6 MB L2 and 6 MB L3 cache. A fingerprint reader and secure chip provide hardware-based identity protection.

Quadro M620M with 2 GB VRAM for certified drivers

The deciding specification is the NVIDIA Quadro M620M graphics card with 2 GB of dedicated video memory. This GPU targets certified drivers for professional 3D and rendering applications rather than consumer gaming performance. The 17.3-inch FHD IPS panel displays 1920 x 1080 resolution without touch input. Buyers who need higher GPU memory or newer compute APIs should look elsewhere.

64 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz and 256 GB SSD

The system arrives with 64 GB of DDR4 memory running at 2400 MHz and a 256 GB solid-state drive. This memory capacity supports large assemblies and multi-application workflows without aftermarket upgrades. The SSD provides the operating system and application drive; additional storage bays are not described in the supplied data. Wireless connectivity uses the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 8265 adapter.

Questions about this item

How does the 3.8 GHz turbo frequency behave when the i7-7700HQ is inside a 17.3" mobile workstation chassis?

The quad-core processor can reach 3.80 GHz on active cores while thermal headroom allows; sustained loads will settle at lower clocks to stay within the cooling capacity of the P71 platform.

What display interface does the Quadro M620M 2GB GPU drive on this unit?

The GPU drives the internal 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS panel and provides the video outputs native to the ThinkPad P71 for external monitors.

What physical memory slots and form factor accept the 64 GB DDR4 installed in this laptop?

The 64 GB of DDR4 2400 MHz memory occupies the SO-DIMM slots provided in the ThinkPad P71 chassis.
