Mobile workstation for ISV-certified apps

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built for professionals who rely on ISV-certified applications. An Intel Core i7-7700HQ processor reaches 3.80 GHz turbo frequency across four cores. NVIDIA Quadro M620 graphics with 2 GB video memory handle 3D rendering and visualisation workloads. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit is pre-installed.

Verify memory and WWAN needs before ordering

The system ships with 8 GB DDR4 RAM at 2400 MHz; confirm whether your workflow requires more capacity before purchase. Integrated 4G LTE WWAN provides mobile broadband — check local carrier compatibility and data plans. Dual storage combines a 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD with a 1 TB hard drive for speed and capacity. Fingerprint reader and secure chip support biometric login.

Quad-core turbo sustains 3.80 GHz under load

The i7-7700HQ maintains its 3.80 GHz turbo frequency during extended rendering or calculation tasks rather than dropping after short bursts. Quadro M620 graphics deliver stable frame rates in certified professional apps over long sessions. Dual-drive layout keeps the operating system responsive while large datasets stream from the hard drive. IPS anti-glare display preserves colour accuracy during prolonged use.

Questions about this item

Does the P71 ship with both the 256 GB NVMe SSD and the 1 TB HDD already installed, or must I add one of them myself?

Both drives are factory-fitted — the 256 GB NVMe SSD and the 1 TB HDD come pre-installed so no extra storage purchase is required.

Should I pick the 8 GB DDR4 configuration or look for a larger memory option for the i7-7700HQ?

The unit ships with 8 GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz; if your workloads need more RAM you would have to upgrade after purchase.

What does the 3.8 GHz turbo on the i7-7700HQ actually deliver when the Quadro M620 is driving the 17.3" 1920x1080 IPS panel?

The quad-core CPU can boost to 3.8 GHz for burst workloads while the Quadro M620 handles professional 3D and multi-display output on the 17.3" FHD IPS screen.
