Mobile Workstation Core

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need ISV-certified stability across more than 100 applications. A quad-core Intel Core i7-7820HQ running at 2.90 GHz with a 3.90 GHz turbo frequency drives demanding CAD, rendering and multitasking workloads. 64 GB of DDR4 memory at 2400 MHz and an NVIDIA Quadro M620M with 2 GB VRAM complete the certified platform.

Memory and Storage Headroom

64 GB of DDR4 RAM provides generous headroom for large assemblies, multi-layer compositions and virtual machines without paging. The 500 GB hard drive spinning at 7200 RPM offers baseline capacity for active projects but will fill quickly with raw footage or extensive model libraries. Buyers who need more storage or faster random access should plan a secondary drive upgrade.

Chassis Security and Connectivity

A fingerprint reader and discrete secure chip harden login and data protection for mobile deployments. The spill-resistant full-size keyboard with TrackPoint supports long typing sessions in unpredictable environments. Windows 7 Professional is pre-installed, so organisations maintaining legacy software stacks can deploy immediately while evaluating a later OS migration path.

Questions about this item

Will the 17.3" 1920x1080 IPS display work with my older docking station that only supports 1080p?

Yes, the built-in 17.3" FHD IPS panel runs at 1920x1080 natively, so any dock or external monitor limited to 1080p will match the laptop's maximum resolution without scaling issues.

How can I verify the NVIDIA Quadro M620M with 2GB VRAM is recognised and performing correctly after I install drivers?

Open Device Manager and confirm the Quadro M620M appears under Display adapters, then run the NVIDIA Control Panel's System Information to see 2GB dedicated video memory and driver version.

Does the box include a 7200RPM 500GB hard drive caddy and DDR4 SODIMM slots so I can add storage or memory myself?

The 500GB 7200RPM HDD and 64GB DDR4 RAM are already installed; the chassis provides one 2.5" bay and four SODIMM slots, but caddies and extra modules are not included.
