Mobile Workstation for Demanding Tasks

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3-inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need ISV-certified stability. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-7820HQ quad-core processor with a 3.90 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 64GB of DDR4 memory at 2400 MHz and a 500GB hard drive spinning at 7200RPM. An NVIDIA Quadro M620M GPU with 2GB VRAM handles specialised graphics workloads.

Verify Ports and Storage Needs Before Buying

Confirm your existing peripherals match the available I/O selection on this 20HK chassis. The 500GB mechanical drive offers capacity but lacks the speed of solid-state storage, so plan for an upgrade if workflows demand faster load times. Ensure the 64GB DDR4 configuration satisfies your current memory ceiling, as the installed amount may limit future expansion. Check that Windows 10 Pro meets your software licensing requirements.

Durable Chassis with Professional Input Features

The black casing houses a spill-resistant, full-sized keyboard renowned for its tactile feel and integrated TrackPoint pointing device. A fingerprint reader and secure chip provide hardware-level authentication for daily sign-in. The 17.3-inch FHD IPS panel delivers 1920 x 1080 resolution with anti-glare coating for comfortable viewing in varied lighting. Quadro graphics drivers ensure certified compatibility with over 100 professional applications.

Questions about this item

What is included in the box with the ThinkPad P71 and do I need to buy a Windows licence or power adapter separately?

The laptop ships with Windows 10 Pro already installed and activated, a power adapter, and the internal 64GB DDR4 RAM and 500GB HDD. No separate licence or charger purchase is required.

Should I choose the 64GB DDR4 configuration or look for a different memory option for the P71?

This unit comes with 64GB DDR4 at 2400 MHz, the maximum supported capacity, so there is no alternative memory option to select.

What does the Intel Core i7-7820HQ 3.90 GHz turbo figure mean for real workloads on this 17.3" workstation?

The quad-core processor can reach 3.90 GHz on active cores, giving strong single-thread speed for CAD and ISV apps while the 8 MB L3 cache helps sustain performance.
