Mobile Workstation P71

The Lenovo ThinkPad P71 is a 17.3 inch mobile workstation built for professionals who need certified application stability on the move. It pairs an Intel Core i7-7820HQ processor with an NVIDIA Quadro M620M graphics card. The system runs Windows 7 Professional and includes a fingerprint reader for secure access.

Certified ISV Users and Windows 7 Dependencies

This laptop suits engineers and designers who rely on ISV-certified drivers for over one hundred professional applications and require a native Windows 7 Pro environment. It is not for buyers who need a current operating system for security updates, nor for users who require a touchscreen or modern high-refresh-rate display for content creation.

4TB Storage and 16GB Memory Headroom

The 4TB SSD provides extensive local capacity for large project files, datasets and multiple virtual machines without external drives. The 16GB DDR4 memory at 2400 MHz handles typical CAD models and multi-application workflows comfortably. Workloads that demand more than 16GB of RAM or GPU memory beyond the 2GB Quadro frame buffer will hit the ceiling.

Questions about this item

What operating system must I already have licences for if I need to replace Windows 7 Pro on this ThinkPad P71?

The laptop ships with Windows 7 Professional 64-bit pre-installed; any replacement OS would require its own valid licence.

Will my existing DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM modules work alongside the 16 GB already installed in this P71?

Yes — the system uses DDR4 memory running at 2400 MHz, so compatible SO-DIMMs of the same speed will operate together.

How can I verify the Quadro M620M is active after setup?

Open Device Manager or the NVIDIA control panel; the adapter should appear as Quadro M620M with 2 GB VRAM and the driver version listed.
