Business-ready 14" laptop with i5-1145G7

This 14-inch ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 pairs an Intel Core i5-1145G7 processor with 24 GB of DDR4 memory and a 512 GB NVMe SSD. The quad-core chip reaches 4.40 GHz turbo frequency for responsive office applications. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on the 1920 x 1080 non-touch display.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 8 MB L3 cache and four-core, eight-thread design keep compile jobs and large spreadsheets moving after the initial burst. Thunderbolt 4 ports maintain full bandwidth during long file transfers to external NVMe storage. Wifi 6 and Bluetooth 5.1 stay connected through extended video conferences.

Thermals, noise and power

The standard business chassis dissipates heat from the 2.6 GHz base clock without aggressive fan curves during typical productivity tasks. Surface temperatures remain comfortable for lap use while the 1080p webcam and combo audio jack handle calls. HDMI 2.0 drives an external monitor without adding noticeable acoustic load.

Questions about this item

Does the i5-1145G7 run hot or loud under continuous load?

The quad-core Tiger Lake chip has a 4.40 GHz turbo and 8 MB cache; with 24 GB DDR4 soldered there are no extra slots to add memory, so sustained workloads stay within the factory cooling design.

What cables or docks do I need to use the Thunderbolt 4 ports?

Two USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 and USB 3.2 Gen 2; any certified Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cable will carry data, video and power through those ports.

Can I keep my older USB-A peripherals and HDMI monitor?

Two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports (one always-on) and one HDMI 2.0 output connect existing mice, keyboards, drives and 1080p displays directly.
