14-inch business laptop with i7-1185G7

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 is a 14.0-inch business laptop powered by a quad-core Intel Core i7 1185G7 processor running at 3.00 GHz with 12 MB cache. It comes with 8 GB DDR4 memory and a 512 GB PCIe NVMe drive, running Windows 11 Pro out of the box. The integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics drive a 1920 x 1080 IPS panel without touch input, suited for office productivity and mobile professionals.

Integrated graphics and fixed memory

The integrated graphics share system memory, so the 8 GB soldered DDR4 limits visual workloads and multitasking headroom. The single NVMe slot holds the 512 GB drive, and the manufacturer specifies a 16 GB maximum memory supported, meaning no further RAM upgrades are possible. Windows 11 Pro, Bluetooth 5.2, and 802.11 ax Wi-Fi are pre-configured, while the backlit keyboard and fingerprint reader add daily convenience.

Check memory needs and port count

Buyers who need more than 8 GB of RAM cannot upgrade this unit, so verify that the soldered capacity meets your workload before ordering. Only two USB ports are listed alongside one HDMI output, so confirm that your peripherals and external displays can connect without a dock. The 15-hour battery claim reflects a specific test condition; actual runtime will vary with screen brightness and active applications.

Questions about this item

How much can the memory be upgraded on this T14 Gen 2?

The system ships with 8 GB of DDR4 and supports a maximum of 16 GB, so you can add one 8 GB module to reach the limit.

What limits sustained performance first on the Core i7-1185G7?

The quad-core processor has a 12 MB L3 cache and integrated graphics; under continuous load the thermal envelope of the 14-inch chassis will throttle clocks before the cache or memory bandwidth becomes the bottleneck.

How loud and hot does the laptop get when it runs all day?

The 15-hour battery rating and integrated Iris Xe graphics keep power draw modest, so fan noise stays low and surface temperatures remain comfortable during typical business workloads.
