ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 i5-1135G7 256GB

Suits mobile professionals needing Thunderbolt 4

This configuration suits mobile professionals who require two Thunderbolt 4 ports, Wi-Fi 6, a physical RJ-45 Ethernet jack and HDMI output in a 3.23lb chassis. Buyers who need more than 8GB of RAM, a dedicated GPU or a larger SSD should consider other models. The 720p webcam and micro-SD reader support typical office workflows.

Soldered 8GB DDR4 limits upgrade headroom

The single most decisive specification is the 8GB DDR4 memory, which is soldered to the motherboard and cannot be expanded after purchase. This fixed capacity determines whether the laptop can handle your multitasking workloads or if you must select a unit with a higher factory-fitted memory configuration.

Questions about this item

How is the DDR4 SO-DIMM installed, and which step do people often get wrong?

Remove the bottom cover, insert the DDR4 SO-DIMM at an angle into the slot, then press down firmly until both retention clips click — the step often missed is pressing until both clips engage fully.

What maintenance or replacement will the 50WHr Li-Polymer battery need later?

The integrated 50WHr Li-Polymer battery is not user-replaceable; when capacity degrades, service by a qualified technician is required.

What limit appears first on the i5-1135G7 under sustained load?

The 4-core i5-1135G7 hits its thermal ceiling before the 4.2 GHz turbo can be maintained, so clock speeds throttle to stay within the 65 W power envelope.
