Built for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad T14 Gen 3 combines an Intel Core i5-1245U processor with 32GB of DDR4 memory and a 256GB NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed on a 14.0-inch WUXGA display running at 1920 x 1200 resolution. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports, HDMI 2.0, Ethernet RJ-45 and Wifi 6 with Bluetooth 5.1 handle connectivity for office and travel workflows.

Sustained workload behaviour

The 10-core hybrid CPU uses two performance cores at 1.6GHz base and eight efficiency cores at 1.2GHz base, sharing 12MB of L3 cache. Under continuous load the performance cores can reach 4.4GHz while efficiency cores top out at 3.3GHz. Integrated Iris Xe graphics rely on shared system memory, so extended render or compute tasks stay within the processor power envelope without a discrete GPU thermal spike.

Thermals noise and power

The aluminium chassis dissipates heat from the integrated graphics and hybrid CPU during typical office use. Fan activity remains low while browsing, video conferencing or document editing on the LED-backlit panel. Thunderbolt 4 ports support power delivery for dock charging, keeping cable count down. The 720p webcam and combo audio jack add no measurable thermal load during meetings.

Questions about this item

Does the 10-core i5-1245U with 4.40 GHz turbo stay quiet and cool during all-day workloads?

The 10-core i5-1245U reaches 4.40 GHz turbo on two performance cores and 3.3 GHz on eight efficiency cores, so sustained loads run on the lower-power E-cores while the shared Iris Xe graphics keeps total package heat moderate in the 14.0" chassis.

Which cables and peripherals must I already own to use the two Thunderbolt 4 ports and HDMI 2.0 output?

You need Thunderbolt 4 or USB-C cables for the two Type-C ports and a standard HDMI cable for the HDMI 2.0 port; the laptop also supplies two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and an RJ-45 jack for legacy wired gear.

Will my existing USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A drives and Wifi 6 router work with this laptop?

Yes, the two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports accept your current drives, and the integrated Wifi 6 (802.11ax) controller connects to your existing Wifi 6 router at full supported speed.
