ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 ultrabook for professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 6 is a 14-inch ultrabook built for professionals who need portable performance. It runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 255U processor with 12 cores and integrated Intel Arc graphics. The system includes 16 GB of LPDDR5x memory and a 1 TB PCIe SSD. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed.

Sustained workloads on the 12-core hybrid CPU

The 12-core processor combines 2 performance, 8 efficient and 2 low-power efficient cores with a maximum turbo of 5.2 GHz. Under continuous load the hybrid architecture shifts threads between core types to manage thermals. Integrated Arc graphics share system memory, so extended 3D or video tasks rely on the 16 GB pool rather than dedicated VRAM.

Simple deployment with fixed memory

Memory is soldered, so upgrades are not possible and the 16 GB limit is firm. Two USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps with power delivery and DisplayPort 2.1 for docking. The RJ-45 Ethernet jack, HDMI 2.1 and dual USB-A 5 Gbps ports cover most legacy peripherals without adapters.

Questions about this item

How loud and hot does the Core Ultra 7 255U get under sustained load?

The 12-core processor uses a hybrid design with 2 performance, 8 efficient and 2 low-power cores; integrated Arc graphics share the same thermal envelope, so fan noise and surface temperature will rise during continuous heavy work but remain within ultrabook limits.

Which cables or docks do I need to drive external monitors from the two USB-C ports?

Both USB-C ports support Thunderbolt 4 at 40 Gbps with DisplayPort 2.1, so a single Thunderbolt 4 or USB4 cable — or a compatible dock — can carry 4K 60 Hz video, data and power delivery simultaneously.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 peripherals and Gigabit Ethernet cable work without adapters?

Yes — two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports (5 Gbps) are provided, one of which is Always On, and a full-size RJ-45 jack is built in for wired networking.
