14-inch ThinkPad Ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450 20BV0061US is a 14-inch Ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5-5300U dual-core processor running at 2.30 GHz. It ships with Windows 7 Professional, 4 GB of memory and a 500 GB hard drive. Integrated HD Graphics 5500 drives the 1600 x 900 display. The 3.81 lb chassis includes 802.11n/ac wireless, Bluetooth, a webcam and a 3-cell lithium-ion battery.

Suited to office basics, not heavy workloads

This configuration suits writers, students and administrators who need a lightweight business laptop for document editing, web browsing and video calls. The dual-core processor and 4 GB of memory limit multitasking headroom, so buyers who want more memory, a solid-state drive or a dedicated graphics card should look at something else. The optical drive bay is absent, which may affect users who still rely on physical media.

500 GB hard drive and 4 GB RAM headroom

The 500 GB hard drive comfortably holds the operating system, office suites and several years of typical documents. It runs out when storing large media libraries, virtual machines or modern game installations. The 4 GB of memory handles a handful of browser tabs and productivity apps simultaneously; heavier multitasking or memory-intensive applications will exhaust available RAM and trigger paging to the hard drive.
