Purpose-built portable workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad T450s is a 14.0 inch ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5 5th Gen 5300U processor running at 2.30 GHz. It comes with 12GB of DDR4 memory and a 1TB SSD for fast storage. Windows 10 Pro is installed, making it ready for professional tasks and everyday productivity on the move.

Thermals and power profile

The integrated Intel HD Graphics 520 handles visual output without a discrete GPU, keeping heat and noise low during typical office workloads. The U-series CPU is designed for efficient power draw, supporting longer unplugged sessions. Fan activity stays subdued for web browsing, document editing and video calls.

Build integration and limits

The 1600x900 non-touch display and integrated sound card with internal speakers cover core I/O needs. A webcam, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in for connectivity. The package includes the laptop, battery and AC adaptor only. Buyers who need a higher resolution panel, a dedicated graphics chip or a touchscreen should look elsewhere. No optical drive is fitted.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 12GB DDR4 memory and what step do people miss?

The 12GB DDR4 is already installed; no user step is required and there is no accessible slot to add more.

What maintenance or replacement will the battery need later?

The included battery will lose capacity over time and will eventually need replacement when run time becomes too short.

What limit appears first during sustained use of the Intel HD Graphics 520?

Thermal throttling on the i5-5300U reduces clock speeds before the GPU hits its own ceiling.
