Lenovo ThinkPad T470 14.0" FHD Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD non-touch display. It runs on an Intel Core i5-7300U dual-core processor with a 3.50 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 500GB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. It ships without an operating system.

Suited for OS flexibility.

This device suits buyers who want to install their own operating system on a business-class chassis. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles office tasks and media playback. It is not for users who require a touchscreen or a discrete GPU for heavy 3D workloads. The two memory slots allow an upgrade to 32 GB total capacity.

No operating system installed

The single specification that decides fit is the absence of a pre-installed operating system. The buyer must acquire and install Windows or another OS before the laptop is usable. This requirement affects deployment time and licensing planning for every user.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 8 GB DDR4 configuration or upgrade to the 32 GB maximum?

The laptop ships with 8 GB DDR4 installed and has two memory slots total. It supports up to 32 GB, so you can add a second module later if your workload needs more capacity.

How does the 2.60 GHz base and 3.50 GHz turbo of the i5-7300U feel in daily use?

The dual-core processor runs at 2.60 GHz base and can boost to 3.50 GHz, giving snappy response for office apps, web browsing and light multitasking on the 14.0" FHD panel.

What does the M.2 NVMe PCIe interface mean for the 500 GB SSD speed?

The 500 GB drive connects via M.2 NVMe PCIe, so it delivers solid-state read and write speeds well above traditional hard drives for fast boot and application loading.
