Ready-to-deploy business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0 inch FHD notebook powered by an Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor with 8GB DDR4 memory and a new 2TB NVMe drive. It ships with no operating system so IT teams can install their preferred Windows or Linux image.

Verify memory and OS plan

The system includes two memory slots supporting up to 32 GB total, so confirm whether the 8GB shipped meets workload demands or if an upgrade is required. Ensure your deployment process covers OS installation, driver sourcing and BitLocker readiness before the hardware arrives.

Replaces older 14 inch ThinkPads

This unit upgrades fleets still running earlier 14 inch ThinkPad models that lack NVMe storage or 7th generation Intel Core processors. The jump is worth it when faster boot times, larger solid-state capacity and native FHD resolution reduce support tickets for mobile workers.

Questions about this item

What is included in the box and do I need to buy an operating system separately?

The laptop ships with the ThinkPad T470 unit, a 14.0" FHD display, Intel Core i7-7600U processor, 8GB DDR4 memory and a NEW 2TB M.2 NVMe PCIe SSD. No operating system is installed, so you must acquire and install Windows or another OS yourself.

Should I choose the 8 GB configuration or upgrade toward the 32 GB maximum?

The system comes with 8GB DDR4 soldered across two slots and supports up to 32 GB total. If your workload involves heavy multitasking, virtual machines or large datasets, adding modules to reach the 32 GB ceiling will keep the i7-7600U fed; for general office use the factory 8 GB is adequate.

What does the 3.90 GHz turbo figure mean once the laptop is under load?

The i7-7600U runs at a 2.80 GHz base and can boost to 3.90 GHz on a single core when thermal headroom allows. In sustained multi-core tasks the chip will settle below the peak turbo, while the integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 handles display output at 1920 x 1080 without a discrete GPU.
