ThinkPad T470 for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad T470 is a 14.0 inch FHD laptop powered by an Intel Core i7-7600U dual-core processor at 2.80 GHz with a 3.90 GHz turbo frequency. It ships with 32GB of DDR4 memory already installed at the maximum supported capacity. The matte 1920 x 1080 display is non-touch and suited to office work, coding or remote administration tasks.

Ready to deploy with storage and memory maxed

A new 240GB 2.5 inch SATA SSD is fitted so the system boots quickly without further hardware changes. Both memory slots are populated to reach the 32GB limit, leaving no room for RAM upgrades. The integrated Intel HD Graphics 620 drives the internal panel and external monitors through the available video outputs. No operating system is pre-installed, so the buyer must provide a Windows or Linux licence and installation media.

Clean software slate with warranty coverage

The absence of an operating system removes bloatware and licence ties, letting IT teams deploy a standard corporate image immediately. A 365 day parts and labour warranty covers the hardware, including the new SSD, during the first year of ownership. Bluetooth and a webcam are built in for peripheral pairing and video calls without extra dongles.

Questions about this item

Will the Intel Core i7-7600U throttle when Turbo Frequency reaches 3.90 GHz under sustained load?

The processor can hit 3.90 GHz Turbo, but sustained clocks depend on the cooling solution and workload; prolonged heavy tasks may reduce frequency to manage thermals.

How loud and hot does the ThinkPad T470 get when running all day on the Intel HD Graphics 620?

Fan noise and surface temperature rise with continuous use; the integrated GPU shares system memory and generates modest heat compared with discrete graphics.

Since the laptop ships with No Operating System, what must I provide before it will boot?

You need a bootable USB drive with Windows, Linux or another OS installer; the 240 GB SATA SSD is blank and ready for a fresh installation.
