Business ultraportable with 4G connectivity

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14 inch laptop built for mobile professionals who need reliable performance and integrated WWAN. It combines an Intel Core i5-8250U processor with 12 GB DDR4 memory and a 1 TB NVMe SSD running Windows 10 Pro.

Suits frequent travellers needing always-on data

Workers who depend on 4G LTE away from Wi-Fi benefit from the built-in WWAN module and 21 MIL-SPEC tested durability. Buyers wanting a touchscreen or discrete graphics should look at other models because this unit has a non-touch matte display and integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics only.

Single Thunderbolt 3 port enables high-speed docking

One USB-C connector supports Thunderbolt 3 at up to 40 Gbps for video, data and power through a single cable, while three additional USB ports handle legacy peripherals. The fingerprint reader and ThinkShutter webcam cover provide hardware-level security for enterprise environments.

Questions about this item

Should I pick the 12GB DDR4 configuration or look for a different memory amount?

The 12GB DDR4 is soldered and not user-upgradable, so choose it if your workloads fit within that capacity; otherwise a model with more memory would be required.

What does the i5-8250U 3.40 GHz boost clock deliver in daily use?

The quad-core i5-8250U reaches 3.40 GHz on short bursts, giving snappy response for office apps, web browsing and light multitasking while staying cool in the 14.0" chassis.

What does Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C actually cap at on this laptop?

Thunderbolt 3 provides up to 40 Gbps bandwidth, driving two 4K displays or one 5K display, plus data and power through the single USB-C port.
