57 Wh Li-Ion battery for ThinkPad T480s

This 57 Wh lithium-ion battery is built for the Lenovo ThinkPad T480s and replaces part numbers 01AV478, 01AV479 and 01AV480. It suits owners who need a direct replacement when the original pack no longer holds charge. Buyers with other ThinkPad models or non-Lenovo laptops cannot use this pack.

Normal thermal and power behaviour

The cell chemistry operates at 11.52 V or 11.58 V and contains three cells in a standard AC configuration. In daily use the pack runs at typical laptop temperatures without active cooling and adds no audible noise. It draws power only during charging and supplies the system within the laptop's normal power envelope.

57 Wh capacity decides fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 57 Wh capacity matched to the ThinkPad T480s chassis. If your service manual lists a different watt-hour rating or a different physical pack, this battery will not fit or report correctly. Verify the part number before purchase.

Questions about this item

How do I install the 57Wh battery in my ThinkPad T480s?

Power off the laptop, remove the external pack if fitted, unfasten the bottom cover screws, disconnect the old 3-cell pack, connect the new 11.52V unit, replace the cover and screws, then power on.

What maintenance will this 57Wh Li-Ion battery need over its life?

Calibrate every few months by fully charging, discharging to shutdown, then charging again; keep the contacts clean and avoid leaving it at full charge during long storage.

What limit appears first when the 57Wh pack runs under sustained load?

The 11.58V nominal voltage will sag as the 3 cells deplete, triggering the system power-management throttle before the pack reaches its rated 57Wh capacity.
