Ready for Business Travel

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a new 14.0 inch business laptop built around an Intel Core i5-8250U processor running at 1.60 GHz with a 3.40 GHz maximum turbo frequency. It ships with 12 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The matte IPS display delivers a 1920 x 1080 resolution, and the chassis weighs up to 2.9 lbs.

Suits Mobile Professionals

This configuration suits professionals who need a lightweight, durable machine with integrated 4G LTE WWAN connectivity for working away from Wi-Fi. The fingerprint reader and Windows 7 Professional support legacy security policies. Buyers who need a touchscreen, a discrete graphics card, or a newer Windows version out of the box should look elsewhere.

Storage and Memory Headroom

The 1 TB NVMe drive provides ample space for large project files and local databases without relying on external storage. 12 GB of RAM handles typical office multitasking and browser workloads comfortably. Memory-intensive tasks such as virtual machines or heavy video editing will hit the soldered memory ceiling and the integrated UHD 620 graphics limit.

Questions about this item

Will the 4G LTE WWAN module work with my existing nano-SIM card?

The integrated WWAN slot accepts a standard nano-SIM; insert an active data SIM from any carrier and the laptop will connect to LTE networks without extra hardware.

Can I keep using my older USB-A flash drives and mice with the four USB ports?

The four USB ports are USB-A style, so legacy flash drives, mice and keyboards plug in directly and function at their native speeds.

How can I confirm the 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD and 12 GB DDR4 memory are recognised after first boot?

Open Settings → System → About to see 12 GB installed RAM, then open File Explorer and verify the C: drive shows roughly 1 TB capacity.
