Business ultraportable with 1 TB NVMe

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a 14.0-inch mainstream laptop built for professionals who need a light system with fast storage and a matte IPS panel. It ships new with Windows 10 Pro, 16 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. The Intel Core i5-8250U processor runs at 1.60 GHz with a turbo up to 3.40 GHz. A fingerprint reader and backlit keyboard support secure, comfortable work in the office or on the move.

Upgrade from slower storage or less memory

Replacing a hard-drive laptop or a machine limited to 8 GB of RAM removes the bottlenecks that stall multitasking and large-file handling. The 1 TB NVMe drive cuts boot and application load times, while 16 GB of DDR4 keeps multiple business apps responsive. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C adds 40 Gbps bandwidth for docks or external GPUs when the workload justifies the extra hardware. Buyers who want more storage or a dedicated graphics chip should look elsewhere.

Sustained productivity with MIL-SPEC durability

The chassis has passed 21 MIL-SPEC tests, so thermals are tuned for consistent output during long work sessions rather than short bursts. Intel UHD 620 integrated graphics handles standard business visuals without the heat of a discrete GPU. Bluetooth 4.1 and the 720p webcam with ThinkShutter cover stay reliable through repeated daily use. Weight stays between 2 and 2.9 lbs, keeping the system portable without sacrificing structural rigidity.

Questions about this item

What are the dimensions of the 14.0" display panel for replacement?

The screen is a 14.0" IPS panel with 1920 x 1080 resolution and a matte finish; the panel itself is non-touch.

How do I access the internal NVMe slot for a storage upgrade?

Remove the bottom cover screws to open the chassis; the 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD sits in an M.2 slot accessible once the cover is off.

Which components typically need replacement after several years of use?

The internal battery and the 1 TB NVMe SSD are the only field-replaceable parts; the 16 GB DDR4 memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded.
