Business-ready laptop with 14" FHD display

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s is a new 14-inch business laptop running Windows 7 Professional. It uses an Intel Core i7-8550U processor with a base speed of 1.80 GHz and up to 4.00 GHz. The system includes 12 GB of DDR4 memory and a 1 TB SSD. A 14.0" IPS FHD matte panel provides 1920 x 1080 resolution.

Verify OS support and port needs

Windows 7 Professional is no longer supported by Microsoft, so security updates are not available. Confirm that your essential applications run on this operating system. The chassis offers four USB ports and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. Bluetooth 4.1 handles wireless peripherals. An integrated fingerprint reader and 4G LTE WWAN are built in.

Suits users needing legacy OS on tested hardware

This unit fits buyers who require Windows 7 Pro on durable hardware that has passed 21 MIL-SPEC tests. It is not for organisations that need a supported operating system for compliance. It is not for users who need a touchscreen or a dedicated graphics card. The 64-bit architecture and 12 GB RAM limit future memory expansion.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop come with a power supply and cable, or must I order them separately?

The system includes the AC adapter and cable in the box, so no separate purchase is needed.

Should I choose the 12 GB DDR4 memory or look for a larger capacity?

The unit ships with 12 GB DDR4 already installed; if your workloads need more headroom you would have to add memory yourself.

How does the Intel Core i7-8550U at 1.80 GHz up to 4.00 GHz perform in daily office workloads?

The quad-core processor handles typical business applications and multitasking smoothly, with turbo speeds up to 4.00 GHz for short bursts.
