Ready-to-Work Business Laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T480s arrives new with Windows 7 Professional installed and an Intel Core i5-8250U processor reaching 3.40 GHz. It includes 8 GB DDR4 memory, a 256 GB SSD and a 14.0 inch IPS display at 1920 x 1080 resolution. Integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics handle everyday office workloads.

Verify Ports and OS Requirements

Confirm your peripherals match the available USB ports and Thunderbolt connection before ordering. The 64-bit Windows 7 Pro environment may need specific driver versions for older specialist software. Bluetooth 4.1 supports common wireless accessories but check compatibility with any proprietary dongles you use.

Upgrade From Older Ultrabooks

This unit replaces heavier 14 inch machines that lack a fingerprint reader, WWAN slot or Thunderbolt 40 Gbps bandwidth. The jump is worth it when you need MIL-SPEC tested durability, a matte FHD screen and a sub-2.9 lb chassis for frequent travel. Buyers who want more storage or discrete graphics should look elsewhere.

Questions about this item

Does the laptop come with a power adapter or do I need to buy one separately?

The supplier data lists only the laptop itself with its 14" IPS FHD display, 8GB DDR4 memory, 256GB SSD, fingerprint reader and 4G LTE WWAN; no accessories are mentioned.

Should I pick the 8GB DDR4 / 256GB SSD configuration or is another version available?

This listing describes a single configuration: Intel Core i5-8250U at 1.60 GHz up to 3.40 GHz, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD, 14.0" 1920 x 1080 matte panel, Windows 7 Pro 64-bit, Thunderbolt 3 and Bluetooth 4.1.

What does the 3.40 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday workloads?

The i5-8250U can boost from its 1.60 GHz base to 3.40 GHz for short bursts, so office apps and web browsing run smoothly while the 8GB DDR4 and 256GB SSD keep the system responsive.
