ThinkPad T490 touch business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad T490 is a 14-inch touchscreen laptop built for business and everyday productivity. It runs on an Intel Core i5-8365U processor with 16GB of RAM and a 256GB NVMe SSD. Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed. The unit is supplied new.

Suited for mobile office work.

This configuration suits professionals who need a responsive touchscreen for office applications, video calls and document handling on the move. The 16GB memory supports smooth multitasking across typical workloads. Buyers who need discrete graphics performance for rendering, CAD or gaming should consider a different class of machine.

256GB NVMe SSD decides storage fit

The single specification that determines suitability is the 256GB NVMe solid-state drive. It provides fast boot and application load times for a core set of business files and programmes. Users with large local media libraries, virtual machines or extensive project archives will require additional external or cloud storage.

Questions about this item

Will the 14" touch display and i5-8365U processor work with my existing USB-C dock and external monitors?

The T490 includes USB-C connectivity that supports video output and power delivery, so it will drive external displays through most standard USB-C docks while charging the laptop.

How can I verify the 16GB RAM and 256GB NVMe SSD are recognised and performing correctly after first boot?

Open Task Manager > Performance to confirm 16GB memory and the 256GB NVMe drive appear at full capacity, then run Windows Update and Lenovo Vantage for driver validation.

What accessories are included in the box and what must I purchase separately for a typical office setup?

The package supplies the laptop, 65W USB-C charger and documentation; a USB-C dock, external keyboard, mouse or additional cables are not included.
