Ultra Dock 135W for ThinkPad

The Lenovo ThinkPad Ultra Dock 40AJ is a 135W docking station built for 2018 T, L, X and X1 Series notebooks. Its side connector locks the laptop in place without drivers. IT managers gain PXE boot, Wake-on LAN and MAC address pass-through for fleet deployment. The mirrored power button lets users start the system while the lid stays closed.

Three UHD displays and 10Gbps ports

Two DisplayPort 1.4 outputs, one HDMI 2.0 port and a VGA connector drive up to three UHD monitors simultaneously. Four USB 3.1 Gen2 ports and two USB-C ports each deliver 10Gbps data throughput. One USB-A port stays powered for phone charging when the dock is off. USB-C ports supply 5V 3A for peripheral power.

Side-connector constraint and display ceiling

The proprietary side connector only fits the listed 2018 ThinkPad models; other laptops cannot attach. Video bandwidth caps at three UHD streams, so a fourth display is not supported. Gigabit Ethernet tops out at 1000Mbps. The 135W adapter limits total system and peripheral draw to that ceiling.
