Suits ThinkPad T490, T590 and X280 owners

Users of the listed ThinkPad models gain full power delivery and video output through the native USB-C port. Buyers with laptops that require more than 90W of charging power or that lack a compatible USB-C video and data interface should look at a different solution.

Questions about this item

Which ThinkPad models are confirmed to work with the 90W slim-tip power adapter included in the box?

The dock’s 90W slim-tip adapter is listed for the T490, T590 and X280, so those models will charge and operate without an extra power brick.

Will the dock function if I keep an older ThinkPad that uses a different power connector?

The included 90W adapter uses a slim-tip connector; older models with round or rectangular tips would need their own charger, but the dock’s USB-C cable can still carry data and video.

How can I verify the dock is delivering the full 90W charge after I connect it?

Check the battery icon on a T490, T590 or X280 — it should show AC charging at the maximum rate supported by that laptop.
