ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 1TB NVMe

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a new 14.0-inch laptop with a 1920 x 1080 FHD IPS non-touch display. It runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i7-7500U processor reaching 3.5 GHz with 8GB memory and a 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD. The carbon-fiber reinforced chassis weighs 2.49 lbs and passes 12 military-grade requirements with over 200 durability tests.

Mobile professionals needing LTE connectivity

This ultrabook suits users who require integrated 4G LTE WWAN mobile broadband for working away from Wi-Fi. Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C provides 40Gbps data and video bandwidth for docks and peripherals. Buyers who need a touchscreen or a newer operating system than Windows 7 Pro should consider other options. The soldered 8GB memory cannot be upgraded after purchase.

1TB NVMe PCIe SSD storage

The single specification that decides fit is the 1TB NVMe PCIe solid-state drive. It determines both the total capacity available for the operating system, applications and files and the interface speed class of the storage subsystem. Verify that this capacity and NVMe interface meet your workload requirements before buying.
