14-inch FHD IPS business ultrabook

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a 14-inch mainstream laptop built on a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis with a magnesium alloy roll-cage. It ships new with Windows 7 Professional and an Intel Core i7-7500U processor that reaches 3.5 GHz. Integrated 4G LTE WWAN and Bluetooth 4.1 give mobile professionals connectivity away from Wi-Fi. The 1920 x 1080 non-touch display uses IPS technology for wide viewing angles.

8 GB soldered memory and 256 GB NVMe PCIe SSD

Eight gigabytes of RAM handles typical office multitasking and browser workloads, but the memory is not upgradeable so heavier virtualisation or large dataset work will hit a ceiling. The 256 GB NVMe PCIe solid-state drive provides fast boot and application launch speeds, yet capacity may fill quickly with local media libraries or multiple VM images. No secondary drive bay is present for expansion.

Thunderbolt 3 over USB-C for docks and charging

A single USB-C port carries Thunderbolt 3 at up to 40 Gbps, delivering data, video and power through one cable. This determines whether the laptop can drive high-resolution external displays or connect to high-speed peripherals without a separate power brick. Buyers who need multiple Thunderbolt devices or legacy port variety should verify their dock compatibility before purchase.
