Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 14" WQHD

This new 14-inch laptop uses a carbon-fibre reinforced chassis tested against 12 military-grade requirements and more than 200 durability checks. It weighs 2.49 lbs and runs Windows 7 Professional on an Intel Core i7-7500U processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.5 GHz. The 2560 x 1440 IPS display is non-touch.

Mobile professionals needing integrated 4G LTE WWAN

The built-in 4G LTE WWAN card suits users who require mobile broadband without a separate dongle. Buyers who need a touchscreen or more than 8GB of soldered memory should look elsewhere. The 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD provides fast storage, but the RAM cannot be upgraded after purchase.

Intel Core i7-7500U with Thunderbolt 3 USB-C

The dual-core i7-7500U reaches 3.5 GHz and drives a Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port capable of 40 Gbps data and video bandwidth. Bluetooth 4.1 handles wireless peripherals. This processor and port combination determines whether the laptop fits a workflow that relies on Thunderbolt 3 docks or external GPUs.
