Ready-to-connect ultraportable

The ThinkPad X1 Carbon 5 is a new 14.0-inch Windows 7 Professional laptop built around an Intel Core i7-7600U processor with a maximum turbo frequency of 3.9 GHz. It ships with 8GB of memory and a 1TB solid-state drive, so the system is immediately usable for office workloads and mobile professionals who need integrated 4G LTE WWAN connectivity.

Carbon-fibre chassis with Thunderbolt 3

Four layers of carbon-fibre reinforced material and a magnesium alloy roll-cage meet 12 military-grade requirements and survive more than 200 durability tests while the complete unit weighs 2.49 lbs. Two USB Type-C ports provide Thunderbolt 3 at up to 40Gbps for data, video and charging, alongside two additional USB ports and Bluetooth 4.1 for everyday peripherals.

Fingerprint reader and UltraNav control

A touch-style fingerprint reader adds biometric sign-in without a swipe gesture, and the 2560 x 1440 WQHD IPS display is non-touch to reduce glare during travel. The ThinkPad UltraNav touchpad and pointing stick combine for precise cursor control, while the 720p webcam supports conference calls on the move.
