Compact ultrabook for mobile professionals

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 6 is a 14.0 inch Full HD ultrabook powered by an Intel Core i5-8350U quad-core processor with 6 MB L2 cache. It ships with 16 GB DDR4 RAM and a 512 GB SSD, running Windows 10 Pro on integrated Intel UHD Graphics 620. The non-touch IPS panel and silver chassis complete a lightweight package built for daily productivity.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits professionals who need a thin-and-light machine with a crisp 1920 x 1080 IPS display, quad-core performance and 16 GB of memory for office workloads. Buyers who want more storage than 512 GB, a dedicated graphics card for creative rendering, a touchscreen interface, or a newer operating system than Windows 10 Pro should consider other configurations.

Deciding specification: 16 GB DDR4 soldered memory

The system provides 16 GB of DDR4 memory which cannot be upgraded after purchase. If your workflow regularly exceeds this capacity — such as running multiple virtual machines or large datasets — the fixed memory becomes the limiting factor. For typical business applications and multitasking the fitted amount is sufficient.
