Carbon Gen 9 purpose

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 9 is a 14.0" HD touchscreen laptop running Windows 11 Pro. It targets professionals and students who need a lightweight device for daily office work, video calls and light creative tasks.

Upgrade considerations

The 11th Gen Core i5-1145G7 at 2.60 GHz with 16 GB RAM and a 256 GB NVMe SSD replaces older dual-core ultrabooks that struggle with modern multitasking. The jump is worth it when your current machine stutters during video conferencing or slows down with multiple browser tabs and productivity apps open.

Sustained load behaviour

Integrated graphics and a 60 Hz panel keep thermals modest during long document or spreadsheet sessions. Thunderbolt 4 and Wi-Fi 6 maintain stable connectivity for extended cloud sync or remote desktop use, while the 16 GB memory ceiling prevents swap thrashing under typical business workloads.
