16-inch WQUXGA mobile workstation

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme Gen 4 20Y50010US combines a 16.0-inch 3840 x 2400 touchscreen with an Intel Core i9-11950H octa-core processor at 2.60 GHz, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD. It is built for professionals who need colour-accurate visuals and strong multi-threaded performance in a portable chassis.

Creative pros and developers needing high pixel

This suit buyers who rely on the 3840 x 2400 panel for detailed timeline editing, CAD review or multi-window coding. It is not for buyers who want more storage than the single 1 TB drive provides, nor for users who require a discrete graphics card for GPU-accelerated rendering or machine-learning workloads.

32 GB memory and 1 TB solid-state capacity

The 32 GB configuration handles large project files, virtual machines and heavy browser loads without swapping. The 1 TB SSD offers fast boot and application launch for current workloads. Headroom runs out when simultaneous VMs, raw video caches and extensive asset libraries exceed the installed memory or fill the available storage.

Questions about this item

Do I need a Thunderbolt dock to use both USB-C ports on this laptop?

The system provides two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports that accept any USB-C peripheral; a dock is optional and only required if you want to combine multiple devices through one cable.

Will my older USB-A 3.0 flash drives work with the USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports on this unit?

Yes, both USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports are backward compatible with USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 drives, so existing flash drives will function at their native speeds.

How can I confirm the 3840 x 2400 touchscreen is operating at its native resolution after Windows 10 Pro boots?

Open Settings > System > Display and verify the resolution slider shows 3840 x 2400 (Recommended); the touch test in the same panel will register input across the full 16.0" panel.
