14-inch OLED 2-in-1 for mobile professionals

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga is a 14.0-inch convertible with a WQHD OLED touchscreen, Intel Core i7-6600U processor, 16GB memory and a 512GB SSD. Windows 10 Pro runs on Intel HD Graphics 520. A dockable stylus recharges in 15 seconds for 100 minutes of use. The chassis weighs 2.8 lbs and meets military durability tests.

Suits users needing pen input

Business travellers who value a 2560x1440 display and four flexible modes will benefit. Buyers who want more storage than 512GB or a discrete graphics chip should look at something else. The integrated GPU limits 3D workloads and modern gaming. Bluetooth 4.1 handles peripheral connectivity.

2560x1440 OLED touchscreen with included stylus

The display is the decisive spec: a 14-inch OLED panel at 2560x1440 resolution with touch and pen support. Colour accuracy and contrast exceed typical IPS screens. If your workflow does not require OLED quality or active pen input, a lower-spec panel may suffice.

Questions about this item

How do I install the stylus so it charges, and what step is often missed?

Dock the stylus into its slot on the chassis; the pen begins charging automatically and 15 seconds provides up to 100 minutes of use, but the laptop must be powered on or in sleep for the charging circuit to activate.

What component will need replacement first during long-term ownership?

The 512 GB SSD is the only user-replaceable storage device; the 16 GB memory is soldered and cannot be upgraded, so plan on swapping the drive when capacity or health requires it.

Which hardware limit appears first when the i7-6600U runs sustained workloads?

The Intel HD Graphics 520 thermal ceiling is reached before the CPU hits its 3.4 GHz turbo, causing clock throttling that reduces frame rates in prolonged GPU-heavy tasks.
