ThinkPad X220 i7-2640M business laptop

The Lenovo ThinkPad X220 is a 12.5-inch business laptop with a touch display. It runs Windows 10 Pro on an Intel Core i7-2640M processor with a 3.50 GHz turbo frequency. The system includes 4GB of DDR3 memory and a 250GB hard drive.

Who this suits and who should look elsewhere

This laptop suits mobile professionals who need a durable chassis, docking connector and classic keyboard for office applications. Buyers who want more memory or faster storage should look elsewhere. The integrated graphics use shared system memory and the display resolution is 1366x768.

4GB DDR3 and 250GB HDD determine fit

The combination of 4GB DDR3 memory and a 250GB hard drive decides whether this unit meets workload requirements. Memory is not upgradeable beyond the factory configuration in this description. Storage speed is limited to mechanical drive performance.

Questions about this item

What does the 3.5 GHz turbo speed mean for everyday tasks?

The Intel Core i7-2640M can reach 3.50 GHz when thermal headroom allows, giving snappier response in single-threaded workloads such as web browsing or document editing.

What external displays can the DisplayPort and VGA ports drive?

One VGA and one DisplayPort are provided; both can be used simultaneously for dual-monitor setups at the panel's native 1366x768 or higher resolutions supported by the attached screens.

Will the 12.5" chassis fit a standard ThinkPad dock?

A single docking connector on the bottom mates with ThinkPad Series 3 docks used by T, L and W series models, allowing shared work-area peripherals.
